Foggy Falls

Foggy light at Big Springs Creek Falls (Philip A. Knouf)

This foggy falls is one of the levels at Big Springs Creek Falls in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest in Washington state.  My friend Ron and I were on on way to check out conditions higher up on Mt. Adams along FR 23.  It had been raining from a summer thunderstorm but stopped just before we arrived here.  The water temperature was likely in the low forties but with the warm moist rain soaked air we were presented with foggy falls.  The sensation was really quite wonderful and rather magical.
